Donald Trump Warns: Here’s How Long the War With Iran Could Last

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the conflict with Iran could last up to four weeks, emphasizing that military operations are “proceeding according to plan.” In a phone interview with Daily Mail, he also confirmed the deaths of three American soldiers during recent operations.

According to Trump, the three service members were killed on the ground, while their identities have not yet been made public. “They were great people. In operations like these, unfortunately, losses are expected,” he said, adding that the situation may continue and risks remain present.

The American president stressed that these are the first U.S. military personnel losses during his second term. He mentioned that previous operations, such as the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January and the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities in June, had not resulted in American casualties. “We’ve done a pretty good job,” he commented.

“A Four-Week Process”

Trump estimated that the confrontation with Iran could last around four weeks. “We’ve always considered it a four-week process. It’s a big country — it will take four weeks or even less,” he said.

When asked about the progress of the operations, the president stated that “everything is going according to plan,” claiming that “their entire leadership has been neutralized — more than we expected. It appears to be 48 people.”

Open to Talks, Without Promising a Ceasefire

Trump appeared open to the possibility of continuing talks with Tehran but did not guarantee a temporary halt to the attacks. “I don’t know. They want to talk, but I told them they should have done it last week, not this week,” he said.

From his residence at Mar-a-Lago, the American president noted that he remains in constant contact with military leaders and is expected to address the American public again after receiving further briefings on developments.

Contacts With Middle Eastern Leaders

Trump revealed that he has held conversations with leaders of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, and other countries in the region. When asked about the possibility of Saudi Arabia becoming directly involved in the conflict, he replied briefly: “They’re fighting — they’re fighting too.”

The U.S. president is expected to return later to Washington. According to him, aides have already contacted the families of the fallen soldiers, and he plans to meet them “at the appropriate time.”
