Every morning, an 80-year-old man insists on bringing breakfast to his wife at the nursing home. “Why is his wife in a retirement home?” was a question. He answered, “She has Alzheimer’s disease.”

He was afterward questioned, “Would your Wife be concerned if you didn’t come and bring her breakfast one day?” Later, he claimed, “She doesn’t remember. She doesn’t even know who I am. She hasn’t recognized me for five years.”

A shocked nurse asked him:

Why do you always bring your wife breakfast if she doesn’t even remember you? He smiled and met her eyes before saying, “She doesn’t know who I am, but I know who she is.”
