Dad lost his job at the bank when I was 13, and we struggled so much that I sometimes went to school hungry. One day, I saw Dad in a nice red car with a blonde woman. The next day, I waited and saw them again, so I followed them and saw her hugging him.
That night, I confronted Dad, and he teared up, admitting he was working as a driving instructor to support us. Mom said they hid it to avoid worrying me since I already worried about Dad’s health. They did it to protect me. I’ll always remember them as the most devoted parents and learned never to judge quickly.
