KFC Posts A Sign And Customers Are Raging

If there is one thing we know about the Internet, it’s the fact that people love to give their opinions. They will argue about anything and sometimes, the arguments may get out of control.

Something similar happened when a local KFC in Ohio decided to do something special. They weren’t doing it to make people angry or even to start debates, they just wanted to do something kind.

A sign was posted in the window of the local KFC and when it was shared online, people started reacting very quickly. There were some who were happy with what KFC was doing but surprisingly, there were also many who got bent out of shape.

The store decided to set up a policy that they would serve any uniformed police officer for free. It didn’t matter what day it was or what time of the day it was, if you were a law enforcement officer, you could always come in for a free meal.

After the picture was posted on the Ohio Going Blue Facebook page, it prompted some rather interesting discussion. There were more than 10,000 people who liked the picture and thousands of people shared it, but the opinions were what took people by surprise.

Many commenters were wondering if giving police officers free food was really necessary. There were also some police officers who commented and said they would rather not be given any special attention and would pay for the food themselves.

Once the Facebook page admin posted a response, it just got things rolling in the right direction.

The response said: “This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture. As an officer, I do not go into any establishment expecting ANYTHING to be free if I’m in uniform or not.  There are other officers who feel similar. We don’t like “special treatment”. The reason for the post is because KFC is acknowledging law enforcement. To those who stated that other first responders should also be acknowledged. My answer? ABSOLUTELY.”

Despite public opinion or what people have to say about it, KFC is determined to keep the sign in their store. It seems as if they will be offering free food to uniformed police officers from this point forward.
