There are some singers who work their way into our hearts and our homes. Keith Urban is one of the singers, and many people can certainly sing along with most of this music.
They may also appreciate Urban because of his life and the fact that he has a good marriage with his wife, Nicole Kidman. Many people even consider their life to be a fairytale.
What many people don’t know is that Kidman was secretly engaged to somebody else when she first met him in 2005. Even though that is the case, they continued with their relationship and even were engaged to each other within a few months.
“There was an enormous attraction initially and we got engaged after three months and then we got married really quickly, but we didn’t really know each other,” the actress said, “We really only got to know each other after we were married.
“I think meeting at a certain age makes a difference. And I trust my gut instinct. From the first minute I met him, there was a feeling of, Ahhh OK, somehow I’ve met home. And he had the same feeling. That was all we had but that was the essence of what we worked from.”
The couple has had two daughters together. They live a good life, but they’ve also had some problems.
This includes the death of Urban’s father, Robert. He struggled with prostate cancer and unfortunately, he passed away as a result.
Urban continues to honor his father, including when he went to the It’s A Bloke Thing luncheon in 2018. He wanted to spread awareness of prostate cancer, but there was some concern among his fans.
Paparazzi were able to photograph him at the Sydney airport and when the picture circulated, there were many who felt he may be ill. In reality, he was there to promote prostate cancer awareness at the fundraiser.
Other members of Urban’s family also had prostate cancer, including his uncles. It’s little wonder that he is so passionate about speaking to others and raising awareness for the disease.
We may look at him as being a talented musician, but he also is a human and obviously, has a very kind heart.
